3 Blackmagic Studio Cams and power cables
3 Tripods
3 HDMI Cables connected to the gray SDI inputs
XLR audio cables connected to amp
1 mini HDMI Cable
1 Shinobi Monitor
Metal Ladder
Vmix computer/ Control room
3 Hard drives (optional)
Place cameras on tripods and place them in their respective spots
Camera with CU lens typically goes closest to the door on the left side of the room
Carefully place wide lens camera in the back of the room on top of the metal ladder for a wide shot that is not hindered by the audience
Place med-shot camera on the right side of the room
Plug cameras into a power source and turn the cameras on to white balance for the show lights
Use the Shinobi monitor for an accurate reading of what will be recorded
Plug this into each camera one at a time via HDMI
Hold power button for 2 seconds to turn on
Check that the picture looks accurate to room temp and lighting of the room
Hold power button for 2 seconds to turn off
Adjust white balance, tint, iris, etc. on the camera’s touch screen
Make sure you are recording in 30fps for vMix
Make sure settings are all the same across cameras
Plug HDMI cables in that have been routed to the gray converter boxes near the door
One blue and black cable is typically found coiled to the right of the door
One blue and black cable can be found wrapped behind the fridge towards the back of the room
One black cable has been hung above the grid and hangs down on the right side of the room
Check with Tim to see if he or current sound technician will be sending us audio
If not receiving mix from Tim, apply step 4 to all cams
If receiving mix, continue to step 2
Plug XLR audio cables into camera 1, the camera closest to the door, on the left side of the camera
XLR cables are connected and kept on the left side of the room next to blue and black HDMI cable
Hit the button with three lines at the top right side of the studio camera to bring up settings
Navigate to the audio tab
Switch the audio input to XLR
Check that you are receiving levels from the cables
Make sure the other cameras’ audio is set to record camera/room audio
This will ensure you are recording room audio in case video/audio becomes unsynced
Hit the button with three lines at the top right side of the studio camera to bring up settings
Navigate to the audio tab
Switch the audio input to 'camera right' and 'camera left'
Open your vMix project file or new file
Click ‘add input’ at the bottom left of vMix
Click the ‘cameras’ option on the left of this menu
Add ‘DeckLink Duo’ cameras 2,3 & 4 one at a time
Double check to make sure everything looks good
Audio in vMix
Click the gear button at the bottom right of each camera input
Uncheck ‘automatically mix audio’ for all inputs
This will allow you to select one camera for audio as you switch
Close out of this screen
Click the ‘audio’ button on the camera input that has the audio cables in it
The button should turn green
This will ensure that as you switch, the audio only from this camera will continue to play
Set the recording destination to a drive on the computer that has enough space or to the external hard drive
At the bottom of vMix, you will see options to record, multicord, external, & stream
Hit the gear next to ‘record’ and make a new folder in a drive to record the output
Hit the gear next to ‘multicorder’ and select the cameras you want to be recorded standalone and save them to that same folder
Hit 'change record folder' once all cams are selected to set the destination
Close window when finished
Hit ‘record’ and ‘multicord’ before show begins
If recording backup on the hard drives (optional)
Grab the three blue hard drives with red cables and plug them into the left side of the cameras
Check that there is enough space on the drives, empty them if not
Press ‘record’ when ready to start
If going live
Hit gear next to ‘stream’ and enter any stream keys
Hit ‘stream’ button when ready to go live
