Checking In at Longmont Public Media:

When you arrive at Longmont Public Media (LPM) to use a studio, please take a moment to check in. This helps us keep track of studio usage and better support our community of creators.

What to Expect on the Monitor:

The monitor at the check-in station will display two open browser tabs:

  1. The studio calendar for the week

How to Check In:

  1. Navigate to the member check-in site tab.

  2. Click “Check In.”

  3. Select either:

  • Member (if you’re a registered LPM member)

  • Visitor (if you’re not a member)

  1. If you're a member, please enter your 5-digit PIN. If you don't have one, follow the steps below to set it up.

Setting Up a 5-Digit PIN (Members Only): To check in as a member, you’ll need to set up a 5-digit PIN. Follow these steps:

  1. Click your avatar in the top-right corner of the screen.

  2. Select “My Profile.”

  3. Click the blue “Edit Profile” button in the top-right corner.

  4. Scroll down to the “Access and Authorization” section.

  5. Enter your desired 5-digit PIN and save your changes.

Tips for Smooth Check-Ins:

  • Ensure your PIN is easy for you to remember but secure.

  • If you encounter any issues, ask an LPM staff member for assistance.

Using Red Recording Lights at Longmont Public Media:

Red Lights = Quiet:

When the red lights are on, it means someone is recording. Please keep noise to a minimum to ensure high-quality recordings.

How the Red Lights Work:

We have installed Wi-Fi-enabled lights in each studio and throughout the building to indicate when recording is in progress. This system helps members maintain a quiet environment for those working in the studios.

Controlling the Lights: The red lights are controlled via the Feit Electric app, which is installed on:

  • The lobby tablet

  • All iPads in the equipment room

To Turn On the Red Lights:

  1. Open the Feit Electric app.

  2. Look for the red button labeled “On-All Rec Lights” at the top left of the home screen.

  • If you don’t see this button, navigate to the “Groups” section and select “Recording Lights.”

  1. Tap the button. The lightbulb icon will change from gray to blue, indicating the lights are on.

When You’re Done Recording:

  1. Check the TV screen displaying the LPM Studio calendar to see if another recording session is scheduled.

  2. If someone else is recording in another studio, leave the lights on.

  3. If no one else is recording, turn off the red lights:

  • Open the Feit Electric app.

  • Tap “Off-Recording Lights” at the top left of the home screen.

Quick Tips:

  • Always double-check the studio calendar before turning off the lights.

  • Make sure the lightbulb icon changes back to gray to confirm the lights are off.

Thank you for helping maintain a quiet and professional environment at LPM!
