Using Red Recording Lights at Longmont Public Media
Red Lights = Quiet When the red lights are on, it means someone is recording. Please keep noise to a minimum to ensure high-quality recordings.
How the Red Lights Work We have installed Wi-Fi-enabled lights in each studio and throughout the building to indicate when recording is in progress. This system helps members maintain a quiet environment for those working in the studios.
Controlling the Lights The red lights are controlled via the Feit Electric app, which is installed on:
The lobby tablet
All iPads in the equipment room
To Turn On the Red Lights:
Open the Feit Electric app.
Look for the red button labeled βOn-All Rec Lightsβ at the top left of the home screen.
If you donβt see this button, navigate to the βGroupsβ section and select βRecording Lights.β
Tap the button. The lightbulb icon will change from gray to blue, indicating the lights are on.
When Youβre Done Recording:
Check the TV screen displaying the LPM Studio calendar to see if another recording session is scheduled.
If someone else is recording in another studio, leave the lights on.
If no one else is recording, turn off the red lights:
Open the Feit Electric app.
Tap βOff-Recording Lightsβ at the top left of the home screen.
Quick Tips:
Always double-check the studio calendar before turning off the lights.
Make sure the lightbulb icon changes back to gray to confirm the lights are off.
Thank you for helping maintain a quiet and professional environment at LPM!
